The short story "Sweetheart of the Song Tra Bong" is such a powerful one. Tim O'Brien finally managed to put an emotion, a complicated mix of feelings to paper. Couldn't stop reading - curiously disturbing. However, the military jargon in the narrative doesn't help.

There is just as much gore and pain as I imagined there would be. But for some reason I thought that I could handle it...
