finally over my reading slump thanks to this book, which used to be my absolute favorite when I was younger. I just got a weird bout of nostalgia where I want to read all the books that first got me into reading and surprisingly, I still love this book. is it perfect? nope. does it have problems? yeah. but do I still love these characters with all my heart...you sure bet I do.

thinking about how burdock everdeen tried to train katniss to be a career tribute….thinking about how he gave her the tools to survive so that his girls would have a fighting chance…thinking about burdock watching the 50th games & watching what haymitch, maysilee, wyatt, and louella went through so he tried so hard to prepare his girls just in case…oh suzanne collins you make me sick 😭

,,,why does this death still make me a mess even 8 years later. you would think I would get over it SINCE I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS but as soon as Katniss starts to sing tears start flowing.
i mean, it's a slight improvement from before. when i sobbed like a baby. now I'm just...silently blinking away tears... 😂

I'm feeling weirdly nostalgic so I decided to reread THG. It was one of my absolute favorites back during 2009/2010 (aka my Twilight days) and I'm curious to see if I'll still love the series or absolutely pick it apart. Why am I like this
