I wasn't planning on reading this, because the last King book let me down, plus the premis of this one sounded like violence I never want to read. But DAMN has SK still got it! Something just happened that took me completely by surprise, and as much as I read, that's not easy to do. Violence is there, but once it's described, the book focuses more on the aftermath, not a flood of carnage.
