I was enjoying this until Elisa did the unforgivable. someone attempted to poison her. it was not the kichen staff's fault, and she knew this. in a "show of strength" she had them all flogged--including a very young boy.
so far this is being portrayes as the right thing to do.
this is disgustingly inexcusable. repulsive. i am tempted to dnf this and the rest of the series.

70 pages later and Elisa has yet to spare a thought to how she treated the kitchen staff. She has instead spent most of her time contemplating her beauty (or lackthereof, in her opinion), thinking about her crushes, and comparing her appearance to the women around her. She's vain and shallow to the max, and I have come to the conclusion that the author meant to portray her shitty actions as justified. Fucking ew.
