This is been a really good book. I’m enjoying it so much. The only thing I’m finding frustrating is Nat. The book referred to him as Luck’s “partner” early on, but they’re not romantic partners or business partners. They don’t seem to have any common areas, and I don’t know how they know each other. I feel lost when it comes to Nat.

“No murder,” she said. “We too busy. You make an appointment and come back later.”

“He looked like a businessman who’d left the office for a little munch-and-murder.”

“I tried standing up, hoping the driver of the truck was alive so I could kill him.”

“Grief has its own needs. The passing of time is only part of it.”

I learned a new swear,

“The Mama would have called this a “cluster monkey,”....”

“Then I’d make one extremely terse and pointed call to animal control. The lion-dog-hyena was ready to take another shot. “Squirrel!” I yelled. I pointed as I shouted, feinted right and ran left, heading for the nearest door. It wasn’t fooled.”

That’s it. This book is officially Too Good.

Y’all, I am sitting in my neighborhood coffee shop CRYING and choking from trying not to laugh. Seriously, you have to read this book.
