Taylor continues with similar themes and situations to his previous efforts (the Bobiverse series) with a moderately more serious tone. He pays good attention to detail, pacing, and character building, without getting bogged down in any of them too much. Overall, I find Taylor's style engaging at the story level without being fatiguing. I've rapidly become a fan.
