This is actually, well to me anyway, a very frightening book. Normally I'm very keen to turn the page but it is the exact opposite here. I'm nervous to turn the page as I don't know what I'm going to read next. I've never read a book before that has this very odd effect on it. I feel as though I'm sitting within a dream, trying to escape and unable to achieve that. Doris Lessing loved this book so I keep on telling..
