At the final chapter. This ending is going to crush me, isn't it? The previous chapter already crushed me...

And now we're getting into the climax! I'm hoping things end up well for our heroes!

You know what? I'm actually enjoying the story now. Sylvie and Taylan are starting to really understand each other, and I'm getting into them as characters. Also, I love the world building.

I can say that for the first time, I'm getting into the story. Prose still holds it back.

This is where I stopped last time. The story is to be honest interesting, with Sylvie and Taylan, complementary and contrasted at the same time with life and death. It's the way it's being told that's holding it back really, and that's my biggest disappointment so far. But I'm actually making progress this time.

This is my third attempt at reading this, and I can already see why I didn't get too far in my previous tries. It's not that the story is bad, it's interesting, it's just that the prose is a bit clunky and is a bit too purple for my liking, and it feels like I'm being overwhelmed with background information too much too fast.
