Maybe it’s me and I’m too cynical. But they say corny stuff like this every few paragraphs and instead of this being an epic post apocalyptic adventure, it’s starting to feel like twilight

“You’re not allowed to die, okay?” he whispered a while later. “You either,” I whispered back.

Again, this would be cute if it wasn’t used literally every other page. Worded differently but still more or less the same

“There was no way in hell I was anywhere near ready to leave him. And he sure as hell wasn’t allowed to leave me, either.”

Those declarations would be if used sparingly. But it’s literally like this every Fucking couple of paragraphs. Like I GET IT

“I thought that I was going to lose you. I thought that because of my hair… that you wouldn’t want to be with me.”

They’re in an apocalypse. And that’s a serious sentence that was just uttered. *sighs* ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME
