Oliver wanted to be treated as an equal to Vincent when before he was like "he wasn't a helpless woman, he could take care of himself" it's just like...the hypocrisy!! I know this was 1823 and that is how it was, and Oliver is right in how Vincent should treat him, but honestly most men - even today, but especially back then - don't understand their hypocrisy *sigh*
