Abraham Lincoln has just died from the bullet wound, and John Wilkes Booth, the guy who shot him, is safely hidden for now.
John Wilkes Booth is vengeful. When the Union army had basically defeated the Confederacy army (his), he wanted to get revenge. He came up with a plan to murder the Lincoln (Union leader) and at Ford’s theater, weeks later, he successfully did so. This event shows vengefulness from Booth.
