Arlo is failing his classes now and has let school fall behind him, he is lost in life without football and doesn't know where to go.

Arlo gets. a concussion in the last game before the conference championship, his coach kicks him off the team, not allowing him to play, and telling him to come back next year with a clean slate, and a clean mind.

The main character, Arlo, plays on the JV football team as a Freshman, but has potential to play on Varsity as a Sophomore, as the coach told him so.
