I guess I’ve been lucky to date not to have someone blast me because I didn’t care for a book. But my luck just ran out. I love how people think they have the right to malign you and call you a simpleton just because you didn’t like a particular book.

Maureen DeLuca Oh No!! Don't pay any attention to those FOOLS.... Ignore them at least!! Can't tell you how many times I've read books that people LOVED and I was like really?? Then there are books that I liked and those who didn't - THAT is what makes the world go around!!

Antoinette Sorry to hear that Liz. We can’t all love the same books. No one has the right to be critical if we don’t agree with them. Stick to your guns!

Patricia I was relieved to read your review because I didn’t care about that book either and it was good to share with some one who agreed with me. But I also like reading reviews by people who disagree. It’s called discussion. Even vigorous discussion is good because we can all feel passionate about books but someone who personally attacks a reviewer who disagrees doesn’t know how to discuss.

Barbara Discussions are always much more interesting when readers disagree about a book's worth. Sometimes a point is made that wasn't thought of before and an opinion can change or at least be considered. It is very narrow-minded to malign someone because of a difference of opinion.

Andrea We all have different opinions about books some didn't like others loved.just some people not many are really rude when you disagree.there the ones I avoid.just continue with your real friends Liz.

Liz Thank you all for your support. I agree that the liveliest discussions are when people aren’t aligned all the same about a book. its part of the reason I love GR. It’s just a case of civility.

Shainlock Well I hope you kicked them to the curb! Ugh.

Lindsey Gandhi I am so sorry that happened to you. Not every reader is going to like or enjoy every book. And there is nothing wrong with not liking a book or writing a review saying such. I read pretty much all the reviews you post and even when you haven't liked a book you are always very respectful in your reviews. Shame on that person for attacking you. I agree with above, I hope you kicked them to the curb!!!!

Bianca Aren't you feeling special now? ;-) I see this happening a lot with genre literature reviews favoured by many younger people. I understand the passion for a certain title, but really, you can't argue logic on something that is subjective, so there's no point in calling names, publicly.
