i've always wanted to get into comics but never fucking knew where to start so i'm just gonna bite the bullet and do everything a mess like always. if anyone's got any recommendations, let me know because at this point i'm just gonna start reading even though i have no idea what i'm doing.

Sandman. The entire run of the comic was written by Neil Gaiman and is brilliant.
Watchmen by Allan Moore, which is one of the few comics people hold up to an almost literary standard.
Arkham Asylum: A Serious House - it’s a Batman story that deals with the psychological nature of his villains... and has a delightfully surrealist art style.
