My biggest issue with this book so far is the setting. As someone who frequently visits Big Bear Lake, CA, I know it is in Southern California (a good 7-8 hours drive from the bay area). It also only has about 25-30 miles of shore line (NOT 65). The recent droughts have shrunk it even more than that. Its barely a mile across at widest.
