Not crazy about some of the in-world terminology (like the use of "peen" to describe males) or the hissssssssssssssssssssing talking cats, but those are minor gripes. The story is solid and I'm loving the world that's been built here. Very different kind of society that's interesting to read about as the situation simmers towards a big conflict.

Need to get back into finishing this! Like that sexuality isn't repressed in this fantasy culture. Lots of interesting stuff going on here with sentient wolves and a cave dwelling species that has a radically different viewpoint than the human protagonists.

Cutting out the tongues of political leaders (or, ahem, banning them from Twitter) and exiling them after 10 years so they can't hold onto power or cause violence seems like an idea I can get behind :)
