It's real weird that hyenas dismantle and run off with parts of a carcass, but don't bring food back to pups waiting for them back at a den site. Most predators that wander off with food bring it to their young, and those that don't bring their young to the food. To take portions of meat but not deliver them to young is real weird. But then... so are hyenas.

I didn't realize hyenas were so efficient at ruining archeologists' lives, piling bones and splintering them so they look like primitive tools. How rude of them XD

Well great, now I have more questions about wildebeest than ever. The more I learn about those things, the less sense they make. Based on what I know now, they shouldn't exist, especially not in huge numbers. There's got to be some connections between these dots I've collected from various sources that make them make sense. There's just got to.

There be some THICK sciency jargon in this thing.
Also, his assumptions that you have read/have access to other studies are perhaps overly generous (especially if you realize this was the 70s. No internet to look things up with, my dudes).
Definitely needed a polish with the thought of readers and not just fellow scientists before being published as a book.
