I don't know. Because some people just can't be helped. You can stop non-friends from responding on your reviews, I think. That might be an option for you.

I think I need to do that. I am in demented harassed mum mode at the moment and I don’t want to end up saying something I will regret later as I’m not normally that type of person.

Haha it's understandable. Some people just can't seem to get it into their heads that you're allowed to dislike something and express that. I think I just scrolled past the review you were talking about and that books sounds horrendous. So thank you for sharing that. And just stop them from being able to harass you. But honestly, I don't even think it matters what you say to them. You probably can't say anything that pleases them anyway.

I know it's easy to say not to let trolls raise your blood pressure because they do have a way of getting under one's skin. And, it's human to get upset, Fre. It happens to everyone who has to deal with rude people who just cannot keep their superior opinions to themselves. I don't know why people take books so seriously, to the extent that they need to impose their views on others. But, at least you can block her so that she can no longer have access to your reviews. Why even bother to "agree to disagree" when you can just block them ? LOL.

Hi Ivy thank you for that lovely message. I have blocked them and non friends from commenting because to be honest I just don’t have time for all the crap some people say just because they don’t agree with some of my reviews. I read because it’s my hobby and I’m not going to put up with people trying to enforce their opinions on me. Seriously if I spent the time going on other people’s reviews because they liked a book I didn’t I would be on GR all day. Who has the time for that? There’s a difference between being loyal to an author to being a fanatic. These people create more unwanted attention then if they just left people be!

That’s exactly it StMargarets. I went off Facebook years back because again politics amongst friends. To experience a different type of politics on books site is just too much. It’s a shame I’ve had to block comments from non friends as I’ve also had really nice comments from people but in the end my level of tolerance is at an all time low and I just don’t need the stress.

LOL. I wonder that too sometimes, especially when fanatics or overzealous fangirls don't realize that they can actually do some harm to their fav author's popularity when they act out their aggressions on other readers. That's why I've become like a Communist when it comes to keeping my GR's profile private. Lol. And I'm fine, thanks, except for a little bit of water retention that's causing my fingers to swell a little - so much so that I can't wear my wedding rings right now. But, it's just a couple more months of waiting, so I'm trying not to bitch too much about it. I will chat with you soon, Fre : ))

I don’t understand the trolls at all! Don’t they have better things to do than go on other reviews and argue with people about their own opinions? It’s crazy! I just had my first one and I wasn’t able to ignore it either! Your feed will be more pleasant with only friends being able to comment!

I’m sorry to hear that Cyndi. It’s never nice to get trolled just because of a book review! Your right about hopefully my feed being a lot more pleasant with people I trust and value opinions of. I wish I had done this ages ago. My poor 4 month old girl Sophia had to hear me ranting and raving about the trolls until my hubby came and saved her ears by taking her away.😂

I ignore and block. Life gets lighter and the world better. These people can not read something they disagree with and move on. We love your reviews and ignore the trolls.

I feel for you Fre. This is supposed to be a safe place so it is really horrible to have a troll come into your space and spew out negativity. I have adjusted my settings so that only friends can leave me comments, just a thought.

Honestly Fre, I always look forward to your reviews because we have similar taste and you have saved me many a bad books. I don’t get why some people have to belittle others for having a different opinion 🤷🏼‍♀️. Don’t let them get you down. Hope you have a better day today.

Thank you Naksed and Jules. I have put my settings on friends only who can comment. I’m feeling a lot more better now thanks Julz. I was angry more than anything and frustrated that all these random people thought they should explain to me why that book was wonderful oh and how wrong I was for rating it low. Anyway I am feeling a lot better so thank you ladies for all your kind words!
