Ahhh.. what a breath of wonderful air. After binge reading Bardugo's mediocre work the past weeks, it's so nice to be immersed once again in Laini Taylor's lyrical paragraphs. One of her first books but already, her writing is so impressive. I've read Strange the Dreamer (her latest series) and it's crazy how she's improved there when she's already this good here. Truly, one of the best YA authors of today.

Daughter of "Smoke and Bone." I fully comprehend it now. "Bone" was pretty obvious from her errand gathering teeth but it's significance was never revealed until now and "Smoke" simply from the act of gathering her soul. She was reincarnated. Born again through the smoke that captured her soul and the bones to create a new body. Clever as always.
