I skipped the boring chapters. Does that still count towards my reading challenge? Cal and Mare bonding wasn't that much of a bonding after all. Author just threw them together and called it development. The protagonist hasn't suffered half of what some other characters have, and yet she seems entitled to a different type of woe is me that no other characters have displayed. I'm rooting for Maven at this point.

I'd forgotten that this is my least favorite book in the series. But I'll trudge on, if only to see how Cal and Mare start trusting each other again, since I forgot.
