Wait a hot second- same-sex marriage was legalized in June of 2015, Hamilton opened for its first premiere in July of 2015. So if this took place in June 2015, they wouldn’t be making Hamilton references, right? Did Becky Albertalli decide to throw in this legalization on a different timeline? Was this accidental? Am I the only one who noticed this? Am I crazy? This book is cute but the references are cringey. Thanks

Why is everyone in support of the legalization of gay marriage? Not that it’s a bad thing, but as a native Marylander I can tell you that when my mom heard the news, she told me that homosexuality was bad (despite the fact that I was in fourth grade and had no idea guys could like guys and girls could like girls). It would be more realistic if there was someone who was against this. C’mon.
