Wow, it's been a really long time since I've been here. Haven't been able to do much reading, to my shame. In the mean time, I was wondering if some of my GR friends could give me some recommendations on contemporary Russian authors, mainly in the field of sci-fi and/or comedy. I hope to catch up soon! :-)

Junta Hey Matthias, looks like you might've hidden this from your page, but I found this in my Friends page just now, nice to see you on here. Unfortunately I don't know any contemporary Russian authors, but recently I read two super short stories by Anton Chekhov which I found quite humorous, so I'll post the link to one on Gutenberg here; it should only take you a couple of minutes to read. I found The Death of a Government Clerk, but couldn't find the other one online, The Decoration, ah well.
