Wait! Is getting buried alive in sand a thing for California teens? Before even fit explaining Artie seemed to know where the story was headed and how the heck did Francois know the gold was for him as soon as he saw it? What am I missing?

The conversation in the dressing room after the concert is ridiculous. Only straight men can be macho and alpha? Does this author think every out gay man is a willowy, neurotic, anxious ridden twink? How did this book get such high reviews?

Do Francois kisses Artie for lock but gets upset when Artie kisses him for real because he must be homo curious? Come on!

These characters would have been much more believable if they were a lot younger. If Artie had been written as a kid who was working with his dad's contracting business and Francois as a teenage genius their mindsets and behavior whole have felt more realistic and natural.

Oh what the hell; if she fires me she fires me.

What? Artie barley knows the guy and that's good reaction when he's living job to job and sort of supporting his family? Really?

If Francois has that kind of social anxiety he would never suggest going to a restaurant.

The amount of times she uses real on Artie's side of descriptions is getting real old
