Bella is just starting to realize that she could be destroyed by the Volturi, only months after thinking she was safe forever with her only love, Edward. But of course, her priorities have changed since Renesmee. Bella knows very well that she may have to die to protect her daughter, and is willing to if it means Renesmee can stay alive. Edward, on the other hand, doesn't really know the pain Bella is going through.

Bella has changed a lot since her daughter, Renesmee, was born. She used to really only care about protecting Edward and being sure he never left her. Even though she still has that feeling, she now has Renesmee's safety in her mind. When Alice has a vision that the Volturi is coming for Renesmee, Bella knows she has to find a way to keep her daughter alive, even if it means putting her own life at risk.

I think Bella should be a little more understanding with Jacob imprinting on her daughter. After all, he couldn't control it; the act was completely involuntary. But now, he is tied to Bella's daughter, Renesmee, and Bella knows it would be wrong of her to separate the two, for they share a strong and important connection. I think Bella just doesn't really want to share Renesmee's affection with anyone else.

Now that Bella is pregnant and weak, she gets all happy when Jacob comes to see how she's doing. But she keeps wanting him to come back, making it the situation much harder for Jacob to deal with. I think she's not seeing that she can't be with Edward and have Jacob as a close friend. It's hurting him a lot to hang around, but he does because she is connected to him in the way a sister is attached to a brother.

Jacob feels very upset and persistent. Even though Bella and Edward are now married, he doesn't want to stop fighting for her love, even though he knows that she wants Edward. Jacob is upset because he knows that he doesn't have a lot of time to get her to choose him.
