this is one of the weirdest plots I've read: an actor loses his memory through a gunshot wound and wakes up believing he is one of his first successful film personas. He starts to read boxes of unopened fan mail and comes across a fan who felt understood and comforted by the very same fictitious role the actor thinks he actually is.
