This has... oddly not been as bad as the previous x number of books in this series. Compared to them, Archmage feels refreshing. Like someome actually was into what they were writing. Or had a new editor. Lots of drow business, an interesting plot with Kimmuriel (who might even have a personality and care about some things, oh my), and even the dwarves have not been intolerably annoying.
