More bite-sized segments of ++KJS... Thoughtful, prayerful, personable.

2 more chapters. Fine stuff: articulate, inspired, erudite, inspirational, down to earth.
Not a narrative though, I feel it's best enjoyed one or 2 pieces at a time.

Dying and new life, promises and parables and words and living. ++KJS' writing is clean, simple, straightforward, yet also erudite, maybe even elegant. Somehow I'm reminded of Brian Doyle's poems. All lightning, no lightning bugs unless so desired.
For me it continues to be agonizing tho, bc the book is so good but my recent experience with the Episcopal Church in NY was so painful, still.

... Lol, even ++KJS reminds us to read Wendell Berry.

I want to read another installment this evening, but I need a few minutes to digest this chapter, "Sibling Rivalry," about James, bishops, and reconciliation.

I recently left the Episcopal Church because of terrible behavior by a few of our bishops. I don't think I'll ever really get over such a deep hurt, but I'm doing my best to move on, kinda. Grieving is a process though.

Lovely, well written -- and sad, because of how many things that were looking up have instead gone horribly wrong (Trump, dismantling of govt, cuts, etc.). What a great voice tho. Definitely recommended.
