Solution? The plaque was installed on the sidewalk right in front of the building. When you light up the metal plate the text on it, a poem by Erich Fried, is reflected on the wall of the building, which is very cool. Well done, Neubau.

That memorial plaque on the street of Schottenfeldg. 60 commemorates synagogue and Hebrew language school which was destroyed in the Kristalnacht in 1938. Neubau’s district council unanimously decided to install a memorial plaque in 1988, but the owner of the building, who got it from Nazis in 40s and was allowed to keep it even after the war, refused it.

Schönbrunn, known for its unique yellow colour (Kaisergelb/ Habsburgergelb/ Schönbrunner Gelb), at one point was pink (!) during Maria Theresia’s reign.
