Holy crap! I was getting creeped out chills when they described what they were doing with the undead out on the ocean, and the result of it! C.R.E.E.P.Y! Yick! Gotta keep reading... Can't stop, even if it is kind of gruesome. But then it's zombies. Not like I expected it to be anything less than gross.

Picked it back up. I really need to get this thing read before the movie comes out even though I'm aware the movie's nothing like the book. Missing Walking Dead so gotta get my zombie fix somewhere... :D

Decided to give it another try. Just finished the part with the mom, originally from San Diego, but now residing in the "New Community" in Troy, Montana. Kind of ticked right now because finally there's a story/character to relate to but it leaves us hanging. We don't know if the dad made it, and that story stopped right as it was getting good. Had me on the edge of my seat.

Not gonna lie. I lost interest because it's all Q & A, and after a while it all starts to blend together because it's all just from the narrator's perspective. I still hope to finish it, but had to take a break, so this is now on hiatus.

I love the irreverent humor and the descriptions of the zombies and the horrific things these survivors share. But I can definitely see what people are talking about. All the voices start to sound the same after a while and reflect the narrator/author. However, the story's compelling enough, I'm willing to keep going.

This right here is what I'm talkin' about:
The drag marks were sprinkled with fluid. Not blood, not human, but droplets of hard, black, crusted ooze that none us recognized.
So disturbing, yet I love it. Also loved this line later by the same man:
I just needed rest, rest and long-term "evaluation..." "Evaluation"...that's what happens when it's your own side. It's only "interrogation" when it's the enemy.

So far I'm liking it. Curious to see where it goes, and I'm already getting my zombie fix, so kudos to the author! ;D
