Just finished the first two stories in this collection.
- Inspector Matadeen on the moon

While at the core both stories were not strictly Sci Fi I loved the way they used a fictional premise to set up the story.
In Inspector Matadeen it was the fact that the Moon is now colonized & Space travel is a thing that allows the author to deliver a scathing & humorous satire.

It's my personal opinion that the finest Science Fiction is not just about futuristic technology but the impact that it has on society and people.
Case in point the story Shit Flowers - It starts off with the premise of a modern day Mumbai where the sewage of the city is managed my AI controllers. The story starts off in Sci Fi mode & then turns into a poignant tale.

Continuing my update here due to the word restriction by Goodreads
In the second story - Stealing the Sea the author starts with the premise that the Sea has suddenly disappeared without explanation overnight and then proceeds to examine the reactions of the different people.
The story had a Murakami glow to it and I think this will end up being one of my faves in this collection
