The protagonist in this story is Ethan, who just moved to New York. The antagonist is the fact that Ethan will have to move back home in a couple of weeks. They relate because Ethan just met the love of his life, and he does not want to leave her. Even though he will only be gone for a couple of weeks, they try to spend as much time as they can together until summer begins.
