This has started to turn into a slog, both the short PI man and the longer flowered thundermug were exceedingly difficult to get into. With me abandoning the last 10 pages of thundermug. Despite an interesting premise(a brave new world style Hollywood inspired post apocalyptic America) with two characters somehow sent from just the attack into a future led by morons. I just...cant get into it.

Finished the second short story "the man who killed Muhammad." About a time traveler intent on killing his cheating wife before it happens. I like the interesting take on time travel, where your actions in the past dont impact anyone but yourself. A nice change from paradoxes and unintended consequences. Also an examination of how intelligence isnt always the best solution. His lack of empathy doomed him.

This book is a collection of short stories, and the first one is "time is the traitor" where a super rich playboy womanizer "decision maker" desperately sleeps his way through women in order to find a lost love, all while his handlers try to stop him and his lone friends launches a daring plot to help.

First Bester I've read before and it definitely has an old school pulpy sci fi feeling to it so far. Enjoying it.
