On the whole, 'Carola' isn't a bad book. But the Sale & its shitty generational cultural appropriation & racist "coffeeface" - the girls wash their faces in strong coffee to look "Indian" - are REALLY pissing me off now.

One thing about this series that always bugs me is that there's no real suspense when a girl or mistress (or old girl?) has a life-threatening accident on-screen (so to speak) - because they NEVER die. Ever.
