While I don't necessarily like the reason for the parting/angst for the pairing, I DO like how it's being handled.

For a change, CC hasn't gone to theatrics and over the top dramatics to push the conflict between two characters. Instead they're behaving like flawed adults. But adults nonetheless.

Sidenote - Poppy Poplar is a terrible name.

The trope is one of my favorite : Girl has always had a tendre for the Hero, which eventually leads to marraige of convenience (which I love).

Please don't mess up the marraige now with unnecessary drama.

She painted his dogs for him so he wouldn't be lonely and sad in a new, strange place.

Wrap this woman in bubblewrap and keep the pain away.

"She'd too much pride to pine for or woo a man still gallivanting about town with his fancy pieces."

Poppy is entertaining as usual, she's always been one of the Tidemore's I really liked.

I'm still undecided on Tristan. I just wish CC had chosen something other than angst filled rake as his personality.
