I have already packed this book 😭. I have this book in all formats but seeing the rest of the series on my shelves waiting to be boxed up but not the first one...

This is a very annoying scratch to have in my brain.

Uhm what's wrong with Wyoming? I have zero knowledge about the different states. Is that the one with the mountains? But an American state is pretty big right? Are there no big cities there?

NSFW: Something needs to be questioned: How is it that Elena always seems to come just from penetration? I mean what? Also lube is a thing. Or some form of lubrication. Natural or otherwise. I love this part. Elena has never really been alone since turning. She knew the rules and if something went wrong she had backup.

And as a child do you fully comprehend the concept of death? How fast it can be? Or how slow? That it's over. There is a place that nobody can fill. And with time, you will be forgotten and nobody will remember you.

That got dark very fast.

Hmm here's the thing. Why bury bodies? Why not just burn them? Or if they are worried about cops why not an acid bath? I mean the cops almost never come there so the risk is low enough I think? Or is it some weird kind of tradition? If it works don't change it?

On the other hand... Sometimes Clay is just an insensitive dickhead who makes everything about him. 😒

So Clay gets mad when he isn't allowed to comfort Elena. He then goes on to thrash his room. It occurred to me that people may find this... Unhealthy behaviour towards somebody you claim to love. Here's the thing though, Clay's behaviour reminds me of a traumatized child. Very primary (or primitive?) emotion and actions. But he does respect her boundary. Children often don't. It helps if you've seen this in real life
