One of the best opening novels I have read in the last several years. Slightly-better-looking-than-the-Everyman Evan is the protagonist, & we find out his story, what drives him, early on. This becomes vital to the story arc, but more importantly it truly does drive him on, past the point where (slightly) saner, wiser men might hold back, or pause for thought. No spoilers, just a recommendation to read a GREAT book.
