OK, questions for those who know the Regency period better than I do: Is it ok for an unmarried woman to ride alone with a man on Rotten Row? And is it ok to have a country house party less than four months after your mother's death?

Then Harriet proceeds to - cluelessly - keep saying and doing things that just keep being insulting. At this point I'm skimming, because I expect Diane will show her fangs soon. Can't wait.

Considering the massive spoilers in the GR description, this was pretty inevitable; considering the remarks made about this character, this was pretty inevitable; yet nothing is being done with it.

She turned numb eyes to Harriet.

- I hate having numb eyes - they put those nasty drops in when they have to do the glaucoma tests ... But I don't think that's what's meant here.
