I believe I was a good quarter into this story before I realized that Three Pines wasn't . In the story. The fact that this absence didn't register at first surprised me, because I truly enjoy the visits to Three Pines. Perhaps, what I more truly enjoy is the play of differences between Gamache and Beauvoir. The incredible thoughtfulness shared with us, the readers, make it seem that we are a part of the team.
