And I didn’t skip a beat. I remembered everything that happened up to that point, all about Violet and Finch and their families and lives and school. Two years away from those characters. Vivid. That’s good writing.

I actually started reading this before Reading Matters 2017, but never finished it, because work and life and work. And it’s been sitting on my bedside shelf accusingly since then, shaming me. So last weekend I picked it up, and opened it at the page with the bookmark, and started reading.
