It is so wholesome when at the end B screams that she lied and the truth is that Fitz always loved Fool the most and they can finally be together away from a world that only hurt them. I mean happily ever after was what they deserved but they’d never have it in that fucked up world. And Fitz reaching out for Fool with “Beloved” on his mouth. I can’t deal. What a love story. ❤️

Kills me a little inside that there are people who would rather think that at the very end such broken Fool was lied to about something so important so he would die. Besides Fitz loved him so much so clear in entire series but you’d think he’d be all hell yeah lie to him, daughter, I will reach out for him and say Beloved to help you. Knowing the importance of that word. Wtf. Fitz would never do that. It would ruin their entire relationship spanning across a lot of books. Besides if it was sinister and a lie it wouldn’t hurt her to say he was loved the most when this was what she was jealous of and made her lie in the first place.Which, btw, bloody horrible thing to do.
Fool was mocked for “Beloved” and it hurt him and yet you’d think it would end up being used as a lie against him by Fitz at the very end? Jesus. Fitz loved him, and you want to interpret it as Fool who was so broken after everything being betrayed in the worst way, after already suffering so much, by someone who was so important to him and who would never do that. The whole point was finally coming clean. Them admitting it to each other, her finally saying the truth and letting go. And some want to interpret it as sinister horrible ending worth an enemy not a soulmate. Fitz and his daughter teaming up to murder Fool. As if! Brrr!
As for oh only the part that he was loved the most was not true - yeah that makes no sense. Fitz confirms it when he reaches out for him, she hates saying it because it’s true and sees him confirming, if it was a lie then she wouldn’t hate it and besides she wouldn’t need to lie to Fool that he was loved the MOST in the first place for him to go with Fitz. She shouts and has everybody hear because lying is killing her and she wants to let it go, it’s cleaning for her too. And she knows she is hurting both of them just to make herself feel better and tearing them apart and hurting Fool only hurts them and she can’t gain anything anymore.
Boy I hate people make me doubt a satisfying ending, making me think what if it was so sinister and horrible and ruined so many books and such an important relationship. But Hobb would never finish it like that. She’s not some cheap crappy author. And her story was always based on them and their importance for each other, and last series was named after them. It was all about them, it would never end with oh yeah after all Fitz was horrible and teamed up with his daughter to make Fool die for him BY LYING HE LOVED HIM (that would be sickening, that would be taking it too far, knowing how Fool felt about him and you think it ended up with Fitz lying about it to him to make him die for him? Torture is one thing, this, after everything that happened, after how Fool felt, what was done to him, would be beyond horrifying) and be with him forever. And his last word was “Beloved” knowing the importance of it to Fool and that he was tortured for it before. You really think they’d do it to Fool. He was bloody tortured for it, he was so broken, and you think at the very end his love for Fitz is used against him and kills him? Sick. They become one. Why would Fitz want to become one with Fool if it was all a lie? Fitz suddenly cruel and murderer to Fool? He’d need to hate him a lot but would want them to become one?
Ugh. What a bull.
I want to forget about that horrible theory. Nowwwww. So bloody frustrating.
Don’t you ruin my Fitz and Fool like that. They finally come clean and end up together and people want to ruin it in most horrible way. Leave my poor Fool and Fitz alone.
Just focusing on the real wholesome ending. God it pains me how much they suffered but I’m so glad at the very end it was literally shouted out Fitz loved him the most and they could be far away together from the world which hurt them so much.

Finally after everything horrible they did something for themselves, finally it was about them, and they could finally escape pain and be what they were meant to be. It wasn’t a Disney ending but it was a wholesome, thank god they ended up together after learning they loved each other the most, ending.
