Something that's bugged me a bit: would exposing Mer to humans be such a bad thing?

Though I'm curious, how do you walk? Heel to toe or toe to heel? Mel says modern humans do the former, though I tend to do the latter.

Looks like it's the start of a new era of Mer kind. And Mel, clean up your mouth please.

It's awkward reading these opening chapters sometimes when you spent the last 5 days reading the series. It's almost like "get on with it already", but realizing that not everyone is binge reading, it's pretty good in terms of catchup and moving the plot ahead. Also, surprise second PoV character!

Here we go, last book in the series. Submerge's ending really left a lot hanging, especially the final line in the book. And I hear this one is dual PoV too.
