I had a feeling Franz and Josef would show up in the grandmother's story but now I'm just sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see how this will also take a bad turn.

I knew about the Holocaust before reading this book and I have even read a few books in high school but still, reading of Sage's grandmother and family living like this is making me sob. Still a great read though. Really want to see where it's headed next.

I'm glad to be reading from Sage's point of of view again. Hearing Josef talk about killing people like he was just talking about a story he heard in the news was hard but it's written so bueautifully that i do not want to put it down. I'm also a huge fan of the grandma's story.

Im still crying about the toddler and mom.

I find it hard to read Josef's back story and how, a guy Sage became close with, hurt so many people. I had to stop when he said he didn't even look at their faces. Going to continue the book though because it's so beautifully written.

Didn't get in as many pages as I wanted to get in but now I know who Ania is.

Leo won me over since my last review, also really like how it's now Josef's point of view.

Love the book but the way that Leo acted on that date was really screwed up. Yes, she obviously was not a fit for him but you don't need to be a jerk. Can't wait until it's from Sage's point of view or the other girl who I'm assuming is her grandmother.
