What’s with the trend of putting the plot of the book in the title? Example “An older alpha billionaire meets virgin heroine romance.”
Can anyone explain this to me? I don’t understand why everyone’s doing it. Laziness? Lack of originality? I makes me think an AI robot wrote it.

My best guess (and this comes from working in publishing once) is that they're trying to capitalize on keyword searches. So if someone searches for billionaire romances or virgin heroines and that's in the subtitle, it will come up. Still I agree it's like hitting the reader over the head with plot tropes that are way too overdone in the first place.
