Took a 4 month break from reading to come back and find that nothing new or exciting has been published. I need the next big thing!!!

My unsolicited opinion for the day: cartoon book covers in romance are a turn off. Like, I won’t even consider reading it because it gives me a weird vibe.

That feeling when the US Pentagon reveals they’ve known about UFOs for years but you’re not worried because you’ve read every available Alien Sci-fi romance book out there 😌

I can’t explain why but Russian mafia romance trumps Irish, Italian, and Spanish mafia romance. It’s all the same but WHY DO I ENJOY IT MORE???

Is anyone else waiting for the next big romance hit? Like the book that everyone reads and it floods your news feed for a month straight. That would be great right now.

Wish there were more romance stories with underdog/working class hero’s. To me, that’s way sexier than a book about a preppy spoiled rich boy.

Every single book in my feed for the last two weeks has cheating or OW scenes in them. Starting to think that the romance authors of the world need group therapy. 😭

Sometimes I think about how funny it is that romance authors create these super detailed extraordinary worlds but the romance plot still be like “she’s my best friends younger sister so nah bro can’t do that.”

Am I the only the one that finds it annoying when authors use the word ‘belly’ over ‘stomach?’ Toddlers and men with beer guts have bellys.

Is it just me? Am I just endlessly picky? Please help lol

Say what you want about the Twilight series but Meyers writing is better than 99% of the other romance authors out there.

Romance rule #43: the heroine is not allowed to have a normal functioning car. She can only have a car that’s so beat up and old that is required by law to produce one scene where the car won’t start.

If I ever wrote a book, and I never would because I have no writing talent, it would be about how a wealthy CEO woman slowly starting to fall in love with the lowly hunky janitor. That’s something I would read the shit out of.

In 2020 I will be making a concerted effort to not read books with heroines that are:

- secretaries
- baby sitters
- waitresses
- librarians

I’m so done with the sexist bullshit coming from my own gender. Being romantic and empowering are not mutually exclusive.

I think I’ll be taking a short break from romance and goodreads in general. I fee exhausted trying to find something I might like. So if I don’t respond to stuff right away... that be why.

Even though I have it downloaded I can’t start reading it until Monday! Terrible timing to have a jam packed weekend with an anticipated book release at the same time.

What’s with the trend of putting the plot of the book in the title? Example “An older alpha billionaire meets virgin heroine romance.”

Can anyone explain this to me? I don’t understand why everyone’s doing it. Laziness? Lack of originality? I makes me think an AI robot wrote it.
