First couple chapters feel juvenile and poorly stylized. Narrator addresses the reader directly and occasionally breaks the fourth wall, which I'm not a fan of at all.
By page 25 I'm confident I have this story figured out, which has intrigued me enough to keep reading. I'm getting more interested in the plot, if only because I want to know if my hypothesis is correct.

Yup. I'm certain this book really is as predictable as I'd imagined. The only thing I didn't see coming is the sudden change of Flynn's voice, from Film Noir style addressing the reader directly to a more casual (and welcome) tone. The writing hasn't improved but is easier to ignore now. Absolutely filled to the brim with racist stereotypes and cliches. Reads like an edgy 8th grader wrote it, but I haven't given up
