Gregg feels left out. Everyone is always getting what they want in the family, Gregg just gets nothing. For example in the book for Christmas he got a laundry holder, and everyone else got something special. He gets in trouble, but his little brother Manny doesn't. "Mom grounded me for a week, because I said 'ploopy'" (114) This shows that he gets in trouble for foolish reasons.

Greggory made New year resolutions, so did his whole family, but they didn't really stick to it. Gregg's mother said that she was going to go to the gym, instead she was eating chips for the whole day, and watching T.V. "One thing I noticed right off the bat is that the people in my family are doing a lousy job sticking to THEIR New year resolution" (2) This shows that no one in the family is doing a great job.
