I picked this book off my shelf the other day. It is stamped "St Peter's School". I'm so glad I finally got around to it.
All the stories are fascinating examples of their craft, but the one that's blown me away so far is 'The Road' by James Hanley. It tells a simple but devastating story of war and its after-effects that contrasts with the upbeat 'Blitz Spirit' narrative that we usually hear about.
