This book is pretty easy to read. It's talking about Salva Dut was separated from his family during a civil war in South Sudan. He has to walk for weeks with only the hope that one day he will find his family again. Salva also struggles to find food and water to survive along with avoiding gunmen, lions, and other threats. And here is where I stopped, I kind of like this book since it's about a child's perseverance.

Through 11 years of harsh situation that Salva had faced, he is finally having the chance to go to a new country with no war, and living in safety. I think this switch point is kind of related to the title of the story "A long walk to water." Because water is a resource that everyone need to survive and peace does the same thing. Also, a long walk reflects to Salva's difficult journey towards peace and safety.
