I just got back to reading this book and i have realized that at times the Colonel can be a jerk. For example, in the text it said, that he explained something to them for two hours. This shows that he will take a very long time to talk about something that revolves around him.

I think Pude is "fitting in more". He is starting to make more friends and not be as shy as he was as before. For example, in the text it said, " 'I brought you a snack,' Takumi said," (71). This shows how Pudge is "fitting in more" because he is making new friends that care for him enough to bring him food.
