A section in which Heinrichs encourages us to fat shame a country's entire populace in order to derail a jerk's attempt a fat shaming us.

When we feel insulted, we should insult millions of strangers using the same insult that upset us in the first place (two wrongs... something, something... right)

The information in the book is still valid and interesting, but Heinrichs' examples continue to make my brain hurt.

It is rife with the sardonic humor and sarcastic wit for which political journalists are famed.

Or was it simple humor and shallow wit?

Well, he doesn't understand the definition of "lying," but he knows we live in a republic, so I guess that's something?

Please, for the love of decency and interesting writing, put away your political rhetoric.

And he unintentionally reveals that he actually wanted to make a witty book about his political opinions, but decided to make this and simply shoehorn his politics in and hope nobody noticed.
He should be ashamed of himself.

I remember now why I laid this book down without picking it up again for so long. It's got good, relevant stuff... but it's a slog to get through, especially that last chapter with puns and sex and politics all jumbled up together XP

Was dragging a specific politician's name into this strictly necessary to make the point? I submit to you that it was not.

Puns may be fun, but this man's use of them is questionable.

Dad set me to read this and I'm more interested in this than the book about schizophrenia he also wants me to read, so I guess I live here now.
